Welcome to weekly update #1! We listened to your comments and emails and the #1 request was to give out updates on Geode. So let’s start:
Right now, our focus is on getting Geode Companion out for release. We want to give something to all the patient people waiting out there. The biggest issue we’ve had so far is making a sync app for both Mac and PC so that you can upload readymade or custom GPX files to Geode. Also with the sync app, you’ll be able to pull notes and photos from the field, which is something that will benefit a majority of geocachers. I’m curious to find out how many Mac vs PC users we have out there. Feel free to post in the comments.
I want to thank everyone for sharing their geocaching stories with us. We’d like to hear more if you have them!

Yet another Mac user. Still eagerly waiting for Geode, but it’s interesting to see that Groundspeak have already submitted their app to Apple, so the competition is intensifying.

PC user — thanks for the update! It would also be great if you could give a general timeline on when you expect to release things — 1 week? 1 month? 3 months?

It looks like the Groundspeak app will not have offline/GPX support. This means Geode will become a must have! Can’t wait for the release. Thanks for all the effort you are putting into this.

Mac baby Mac.
Been using iGeocache for a couple outings with some success but have just come across a shortcoming. For “unknown” cache types with bogus cords, I can find no way of editing an individual listing’s cords. This would also be an issue with multi’s and offset multi’s where you update cords based on what you find at waypoints or reference points.
I assume this will be fixed very soon, but as I am also watching Geode with some interest, I wanted to bring this drawback of a contender to your attention.
I lost my GPS and now only use my iPhone, so this type of functionality is very important.
